MFA is seeking to add an SEC Practice Leader: Senior Audit Manager, Principal or Partner to our team. The SEC Practice Leader will be responsible for serving a variety of publicly-traded customers across various industries. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing multiple customer engagement teams and providing performance feedback to all members of those teams at the conclusion of engagements.

The SEC Practice Leader will be an integral part of MFA’s strategy to grow and expand the SEC Audit Practice with significant influence over the successful expansion of this market opportunity. At MFA, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of customer satisfaction, and the SEC Practice Leader will have responsibility for oversight and retention of all SEC audit customer engagements.



  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC hierarchies and an ability to research issues and provide management with relevant information, technical guidance and conclusions on non-routine, complex issues
  • Responsible for assisting and actively participating in the development of departmental training, methodology and tools
  • Lead the new prospect development process, including the preparation of proposals
  • Monitor engagement progress against customer expectations
  • Demonstrate the ability to build networks of contacts and to identify opportunities for cross-selling Firm services to customers by focusing on customer service skills and relationship-building


  • At least eight (8+) years of experience in public accounting
  • Recent SEC Public Company audit experience is required
  • Licensed CPA in the State of Massachusetts
  • Exhibits strong skills in maintaining great customer service while understanding the specific reporting requirements for companies subject to SEC reporting
  • Must have skills related to supervising engagement team members and instructing them on completing assigned tasks
  • Time management skills to adequately manage multiple engagements with multiple teams
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and auditing
