Analyst (Risk Advisory)

The Risk Advisory Analyst operates within MFA’s Risk Advisory Practice and is responsible for the development, documentation, and execution of Risk Advisory engagements, interfacing with Firm and customer personnel, and becoming technically competent in the areas including Business Process Risk, Information Technology Risk, Fraud and Forensic Accounting, Third-party Risk Management, Strategic Business and IT Transformation, Digital Transformation and Data Analytics, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to achieve improved business processes and internal controls for their organization
  • Work with engagement teams to deliver quality customer work products on time
  • Perform testing of internal controls testing relating to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports (SOC 1, 2 and 3)
  • Perform other attestation reviews, internal audit engagements, and other Risk Advisory projects
  • Perform additional business process and/or IT related assessments, as defined
  • Gain experience in fraud, financial crime, forensic accounting, cybersecurity, data privacy, data analytics and/or third-party risk management, among others
  • Become proficient in risk assessment and finding classification procedures
  • Create and draft issues and recommendations
  • Travel to customer sites as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management, with preference towards candidates working towards graduate-level business degrees such as MBA or MSA
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC or similar credential and or/candidate a strong plus
  • Up to 2 years’ relevant experience focused on testing controls, participating in compliance assessments, and/or performing risk assessments
  • Ability to comprehend different organizations’ business models and operations
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgement
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
