Tax Analyst (Pass-Through Entities)

MFA is seeking to grow its Pass-Through Entities Tax Practice with the addition of a staff-level tax professional. This experienced individual will build leadership qualities by taking ownership of customer engagements and expanding technical skills to broaden knowledge base.

Responsibilities

  • Display an understanding of foundational tax and accounting concepts and an interest in expanding your understanding
  • Assist in development of the team by working with other staff, seniors, and managers to prepare and conduct training classes on technical tax concepts, software packages, and tax updates
  • Pursue an understanding of the “Experienced Tax Analyst”  job description and work towards development of such skills
  • Develop an understanding of tax and accounting software tools
  • Development of project management skills (e.g. management of multiple priorities, active communication with peers and colleagues, etc.)
  • Develop the ability to research technical tax issues and prepare summary of findings
  • Stay current on new tax legislation
  • Complete 40 hours of Continuing Education annually as laid out in your customized learning path
  • Attend at least one (1) recruiting or networking event annually

Qualifications

  • No public accounting experience needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or other Bachelor’s Degree with supplemental coursework in Accounting
  • Two plus (2+) years of experience in a customer service or sales position in retail, restaurants, and/or consulting
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrate group presentation skills
  • Excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work productively as part of a team
