Director of IT Advisory

The Director of IT Advisory resides within the Risk Advisory Practice and is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of SOC, cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and IT audit support engagements. The professional also maintains responsibility for business development and acts as a technical subject matter specialist for MFA’s customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with customers to understand their requirements for a successful engagement. Oversee the design, execution, and delivery of IT Advisory engagements that are aligned with the customer’s vision
    • Work with customers to achieve engagement objectives, improve business processes and controls, and mitigate risks for their respective organizations
    • Work with engagement teams to deliver quality client work products on time
    • Implement and/or assess IT risk management programs for our customers by utilizing client preferred compliance framework (e.g., COBIT, NIST)
    • Design and perform testing of controls for engagements
    • Design and execute cybersecurity assessments
    • Perform additional IT, data protection and data privacy related assessments
  • Manage customer projects so that a best-in-class customer experience is delivered
  • Represent the Risk Advisory Practice and assist with service line growth initiative and value creation
  • Provide technical sales support to help grow other MFA service lines
  • Create strong internal and external promoters of MFA’s Risk Advisory services, products, and overall brand
  • Travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Communications, Business Administration, Business Management, or Accounting
  • CISA, CRISC, CPA, CIA credential and or/candidate
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience focused on designing, implementing, and/or testing IT internal controls, performing IT and/or data security/privacy compliance assessments, and/or involved with an organization’s IT operations and support
  • Strong technical IT comprehension
  • Experience working independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgement
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment; genuine interest in business and business development with a strong desire to make an impact on MFA’s customers
