HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

MFA is seeking a part-time Human Resources (HR) Administrator to administer employee new hire paperwork, benefits enrollments, and database updates companywide. This position provides administrative support to the HR function as needed (e.g., correspondence and new hire offer and paperwork generation, background checks, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS updates, benefit enrollments, learning system data entry, report generation, compliance activities, employee tracking and updating, generation of POs, meeting scheduling, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Generates, updates, and maintains human resources personnel files as well as records in our HRIS and Micron for both employees and contractors. This involves generation of new hire paperwork, ensuring timely and accurate completion, filing needed documentation, data entry of info into various systems, and maintenance of information in the systems as it changes.
  • Processes new hire and repeat background checks (including gaining authorization and initiating)
  • Provides updated information on all new hires and terminations to other departments
  • Maintains updated employee information, files, and systems regarding transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, address/name/family changes, license/certification changes
  • Tracks and ensures policy compliance with payroll-related employee changes (leaves, bonuses, education and certification reimbursement, allowances, pay changes, severances, etc.)
  • Supports the administration of benefit programs, including enrollments and terminations
  • Prepares, amends where necessary, completes, and files various HR documents (i.e. offer letter and other templates, new hire/exit checklists, vendor contracts, benefit guides, PowerPoint decks, Excel documents for budgeting and planning, surveys, policy documents, employment verifications, etc.)
  • Assists with payroll by providing the Finance department with relevant employee/contractor information (i.e. W4, voided check, contractor agreement, employment classification, etc.)
  • Provides administrative support and coordination during Firm initiatives (such as Firm meetings, Open Enrollment periods, Firm-wide compensation changes, training events, social and community service events, employee gift program, HR audits, and compliance projects)
  • Provides administrative support to the team as needed (scheduling meetings, making copies, scanning documents, completing mailings, etc.)
  • Special project coordination

Qualifications

  • Two to five (2-5) years of HR and/or administrative support experience
  • Basic understanding of HR operational policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable
  • Good relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of office and administration procedures
  • Strong project coordination skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a fast-growth professional services firms is highly desirable
  • Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented
  • Advanced Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills

Location

  • Tewksbury only: We are currently accepting applications from prospective candidates for our Tewksbury, Massachusetts location.
  • Hours: This role is a flexible, part-time position with an average of 28 hours/week ideally suited for a person who wants to work part-time and/or is seeking to balance this role with other responsibilities or interests. Because the volume of work can increase or decrease, our ideal candidate would have the flexibility to increase or decrease hours between 15-35 hours per week to accommodate changes in work demands, keeping the annual average of not more than 28 hours per week. We can be very flexible to accommodate personal/family needs (including generous time off, flexibility with hours, days, and ability to partly work from home).
