Director (Risk Advisory)

The Risk Advisory Director operates within MFA’s Risk Advisory Practice and is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of a variety of Risk Advisory support engagements for our customers which include, but are not limited to, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Business Process and Controls Assessments, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, SOC 1/2/3, Fraud, Financial Crime and Forensic Accounting, Strategic Business and/or IT Transformation, Digital Transformation, and Data Analytics. The professional also maintains responsibility for business development and acts as a technical subject matter specialist for MFA’s customers.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement Management
    • Work closely with customers to understand their requirements for a successful engagement. Oversee the design, execution, and delivery of Risk Advisory engagements that are aligned with the customer’s vision.
    • Work with customers to achieve engagement objectives, improve business processes and controls, and mitigate risks for their respective organizations
    • Work with engagement teams to deliver quality customer work products on time
    • Oversee the design and execution of risk assessments and/or control testing activities
    • Manage customer projects so that a best-in-class customer experience is delivered
    • Serve as detail reviewer for engagements, including testing and deliverable reviews. Work with Risk Advisory leadership in escalation, when necessary.
    • Travel to customer sites, as needed
  • Risk Advisory Practice and Firm Development
    • Represent the Risk Advisory Practice and assist with service line growth initiatives and value creation
    • Create strong internal and external promoters of MFA’s Risk Advisory services, products, and overall brand
    • Provide technical sales support to help grow other MFA service lines
    • Attend networking events and promote MFA’s brand image
    • Contribute to pricing and department profitability initiatives
  • Talent Management and Development
    • Work with Risk Advisory senior leadership to identify staffing needs and methods to ensure those needs are met
    • Mentor and provide career guidance to Risk Advisory Consultants and Analysts
    • Develop all members to be leaders and serve as a leadership role model

Qualifications

  • MBA, MSA or equivalent business or IT degree
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC or similar credential and or/candidate strongly preferred
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience focused on designing, implementing, and/or testing internal controls, performing compliance assessments, and/or involved with an organization’s business process operations and support
  • Experience working independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment; genuine interest in business and business development with a strong desire to make an impact on MFA’s customers
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and lead talent, concerning both department output and in being genuinely invested in the goals, desires and progress of all department members
