Tax Senior (Corporate)

The MFA Companies® (MFA) is currently seeking to add a Tax Senior to its growing Corporate Tax Practice.

  • Oversee multiple customer engagements by providing timely, high quality service that meets or exceeds expectations
  • Prepare and review complex corporate tax returns, including consolidated returns
  • Provide quarterly and annual corporate tax provision services (ASC 740) for global and domestic customers
  • Prepare and review quarterly or annual tax plans for corporations
  • Ensure proper documentation and preparation of tax return workpapers
  • Respond to tax notices and assist with tax examinations
  • Responsible for direct customer nurturing activities as assigned
  • Assist with the implementation of new tax initiatives
  • Stay current on new tax legislation
  • Provide appropriate and timely performance feedback
  • Exhibit a willingness to work with partners and managers on consulting needs of customers
  • Assist in the development and training of staff to include preparing and conducting in-house trainings
  • Take an active role in mentoring staff
  • Make efficient use of Firm resources
  • Recognize opportunities to share knowledge with staff; be a good role model – lead by example
  • Complete 40 Continuing Education Hours annually as laid out in your customized learning path
  • Participate in a minimum of two (2) recruiting or networking events annually


  • Three (3) to four (4) years of prior experience in public accounting focusing on corporate federal and state tax compliance and consulting
  • Experience with corporate tax provisions (ASC 740) and C Corporation tax planning, preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA candidate
  • An aptitude for or experience with mentoring, coaching and development of staff
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
  • An aptitude for or experience with managing multiple engagements and priorities in a fast-paced and growing environment
  • Knowledge of tax software and technology and tax research tools
  • Strong organization, coordination and follow-up skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, an attention to quality, thoroughness and accuracy
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work independently
